I've always kept a close eye on College cricket since leaving school and to be able to come back and be part of the legacy is an exciting prospect. I'm looking forward to seeing the students develop over the summer, especially being challenged by the best that Guernsey has to offer. It is a great opportunity for them to deliver match-winning performances to push their names towards the National team. I can't wait to get started.

When Tom Eisenhuth (Head of Sport at Elizabeth College) approached me with the idea of mixing an OE and College 1st XI team together in the Premier Weekend League, a couple of years ago, I couldn't help but smile and think what a great opportunity it was for College cricket. Now that the idea has become a reality, it can only further improve the development and the quality of cricket players coming out of Elizabeth College.

Now back on island, Matt Stokes is currently working at Elizabeth College Junior School, teaching Year 4, having recently completed his PGCE. Matt has always been passionate about cricket and, following his degree in Sports Coaching and Development, he was Head Coach of the Elizabeth College 1st XI team that won the 2018 bowl competition, before passing the reins to Ben Ferbrache when he left the island to resume his university studies. Matt has a level 2 coaching qualification and has been a member of the Guernsey cricket team since 2013 making his debut at 18 years old.
