After winning the toss, captain Charlie Clapham elected to field looking to make use of the slight overcast conditions. The OE's got off to the best possible start removing the inform Guernsey batter Zak Damarell who was caught behind by debutant Joe Marshall (11017). Two overs later Will Peatfield was to join Damarell after hitting a low full toss to Captain Clapham at extra cover. Cobo were in a spot of bother at 2 for 2 however the partnership of Guernsey Captain Josh Butler and Ollie Newey kept the scoreboard ticking moving the score to 47. Harry Duke got the breakthrough of Newey who was caught by Marcus Thomas at point.

With Cobo struggling at 48 for 3 Matt Stokes was given another over and was rewarded when he removed Dec Martel for 6 ball duck, he too was caught at point this time by Ben Ferbrache. After the opening spell of Stokes and Duke Cobo were 52 for 4 with Duke claiming impressive figures of 7-1-18-2. Alex Bushell was the next man to go he was well caught by Marshall of the bowling of Louis Steyn. Marcus Thomas closed out the Cobo innings from the Blanc Bois end superbly. He picked up 4 wickets in his 5 over spell removing the big wicket of Cobo and Guernsey Captain Butler for a well made 80. Charlie Forshaw (11178) became the youngest ever player for the OE's at the age of 15 years and 65 days. He bowled impressively on debut picking up the wicket of Tom Veillard after a tight spell of bowling finishing with 10-0-35-1. Ex Elizabeth College student Kieran Le Gallez was the final wicket to fall with Cobo being bowled out for 195.

The OE opening pair of Stokes and Birch strode out to bat with 196 needed to win on what was a good KGV wicket. With the score on 29 Stokes was the first wicket to fall after receiving a peach of a delivery from Cobo and Guernsey opening bowler Will Peatfield. Clapham and Ferbrache were soon to follow with the Stokes and the OE's were struggling at 53 for 3 needing a further 143 for victory. Harry Duke and Charlie Birch combined and batted sensibly to rebuild. Birch once again was in impressive form moving to his 3rd half century in his short OE's career. Peatfield was re introduced into the attack with Cobo needing a wicket to try and salvage something from the game. He managed to sneak one through Duke's defence, this brought Marcus Thomas to the crease. Thomas started off trying to rotate the strike and build a platform.

The destructive batting of Thomas was once again in full flow taking Dec Martel's next two overs for 11 and 8 runs moving the score to 171 for 4 with 6 overs remaining. Disaster struck in the very next over when Peatfield removed Birch for a superb 91 off 128 balls. This did not stop Thomas taking Martel's next over for nine including a large six over square leg. Thomas did unfortunately fall in the 47th over for a very well made 42 off 38 balls. Joe Marshall and Ollie Clapham combined to see the OE's over the line is a 4 wicket win to achieve the double over Cobo.
