After losing the toss the OE's were made to field first on what looked like a good wicket. The OE's handed a debut to lower 6th left arm spinner Dan Brown (11515) who came the 16th player to be capped by the OE's. With the score on 28 Matt Stokes made the breakthrough removing Ben Wentzel for 9 runs. This was the start of things to come with wickets falling frequently. Ben Johnson was next in on the act bowling the dangerous Guernsey batter Tom Nightingale for 3, he was followed by Wanderers Irregulars skipper Lucas Barker when Matt Stokes removed him with a peach of a delivery caught behind by Fintan Ridgwick. The same combination came together after drinks with Stokes removing Jack Brown caught down the legside by Ridgwick to a rising bouncer.

With the score at 58 for 4, ex Elizabeth College First XI captain Ed Miller came to the crease, he was removed first ball by Stokes bowled through the gate. This brought current Elizabeth College Student Joe Marshall to the crease to face the hat trick ball from Stokes. Stokes bowled the perfect delivery that took the top of off stump removing Marshall leaving Wanderers Irregulars reeling at 58 for 6 with Stokes finishing his spell and ending with figures of 10-4-27-5, his second OEA five wicket haul.

Ben Johnson supported Stokes superbly with figures of 10-1-34-1 and was very unfortunate not to pick up more wickets during his spell. Peter Birch replaced Johnson and removed Blake Carre for 4. With Wanderers at 7 wickets down Charlie Birch replaced Stokes and struck in his first over removing the dangerous hard hitting Charlie Vorster with a faint edge through to Ridgwick. With Wanderers Irregulars only fielding 10 players the OE's needed only 1 final wicket. Ant Stokes who came in at number 4 was the final batter to go trying to free his arms and take the score as far as he could he was bowled by Peter Birch.

After the interval the OE's set about their run chase with Stokes and Charlie Birch. The openers set about chasing a 76 runs for victory and did so with ease. Birch looked calm and batted sensibly to end on 27 off 48 balls including 4 x 4's. Stokes looked in impressive form scoring freely making 46 of 47 balls including 7 x 4's and 1 x 6's to end the game and take the OE's to a 10 wicket victory.
