Canaccord Griffins inflicted the first defeat of the season on the OE's. After losing the toss the OE's were sent into bat. Openers Matt Stokes and Charlie Birch got the OE's off to a solid start moving the score along to 50 with no loss. Ex Elizabeth College Student Adam Wakeford got the prized wicket of Matt Stokes with a ball the rose steeply to take the outside edge of Stokes bat. Charlie Clapham joined Birch in the middle both moving the score along nicely. Clapham was removed with the score on 77 for 2. Ben Ferbrache, Marcus Thomas and Fintan Ridgwick shortly followed with the OE's going from 50 for no loss to 109 for 5.

Birch and Harry Duke combined to re-build for the OE's batting sensibly to try and post a defendable score on a difficult wicket. Birch was the next to go for a very well made 70 off 116 runs. With the lower order providing some late impetuous the OE's posted 181 for 8 in their 50 overs. A score that could be defended with some tight bowling.

The Griffins pair of Nathan and Luke Le Tissier once again proved to be a thorn in the OE's side. Both batting freely and sensibly to take the score onto 125 for no loss at the half way stage. Max Johnson managed to get the all important breakthrough dismissing Nathan Le Tissier for 77. With the score on 171 Griffins only needed a further 11 runs to win. Matt Philp was soon to follow trying to hit over the top and was caught by Stokes. With only 3 runs needed Dan Brown picked up his first OE's wicket removing Le Tissier caught by Marcus Thomas in the deep. Harry Duke 6-1-16-0 and Max Johnson 7-0-32-2 were the pick of the bowlers for the OE's in what proved to be a heavy defeat to the current holder.
