The OEA Sporting Club - Steve Sharman

4 Feb 2021
Club News

The idea to form an OEA Sporting Club has been in my mind from a relatively early period of my tenure as an OEA Committee member. It was clear that the annual OEA sporting matches were becoming increasingly popular with our members and there was a desire to have further opportunities to participate together. In conversations with Tom Eisenhuth, Director of Sport at EC, in my role as not only a Director of the College but also with my Guernsey Sports Commission hat on, we identified that a pathway could be created between the current pupils and OEA sport. This would have the combined benefits of pupils playing alongside OEs and offering more regular participation opportunities.

The pilot in 2021 is going to be the OEA Cricket team that under the supervision of Ben Ferbrache (OE, EC Cricket Coach and Guernsey Cricket Development Coach / Officer) and with the full support of Guernsey Cricket will participate in the Senior League this season.
