OE Ben de Putron (9480) from Arbology Tree Services has worked closely with the Elizabeth College Estates Team on the removal of a number of trees across the school site including several behind the Sports Hall. In addition a large oak tree diseased with honey fungus was also removed at ECJS to make way for the new entranceway and playground on the Acorn site.
Ben has loved the opportunity to return to school to use his skills and passion in arboriculture to help shape the future outdoor environment of College. Ben realised his love of trees whilst working as a jungle expedition leader trekking through the jungles of Belize and Borneo.
Returning to Guernsey after his travels Ben decided to carve a career in tree surgery. After studying at Merrist Wood College and achieving all the qualifications required, he worked for a couple of local tree surgery firms, before embarking on his next adventure; Arbology Tree Services. Arbology Tree Services has been running for five years now and has flourished into a five-man team. Providing all aspects of Tree surgery such as felling, pruning and stump removal.
Ben appreciates the benefit of trees and the impact they can have and wishes to continue to provide a harmonious coexistence of education and nature at Elizabeth College.
