Last week, members of The Dead Donkey Club, Elizabeth College’s amazing legacy society, came together on College Field for their much anticipated annual Croquet and Pétanque event. True to tradition, the gathering celebrated both light hearted competition and enduring connections among alumni, supporters, and friends of the College.

Despite a few passing showers, spirits remained high and the event was a resounding success. The field was alive with the clink of pétanque balls, the thwack of croquet mallets, and plenty of laughter and good cheer. Guests enjoyed a fantastic BBQ, which kept everyone well fed and energized, while the lively atmosphere reminded all in attendance why this event remains a highlight of the Dead Donkey Club calendar.

The day culminated in a thrilling final match, where Principal Jenny Palmer (8989), determined to break her streak after finishing as runner-up in the past two years, partnered with Godfray Guilbert (5304) to face off against College Director James Ovenden (7671) and Aimie. In a close and dramatic finish, Mrs Palmer and Godfray emerged victorious, much to the delight of supporters on the sidelines.

Thank you all for making it another memorable and meaningful celebration of legacy and fellowship. We look forward to seeing you next year!
