Congratulations to honorary OE John Hooker on his honorary degree in education from St. Mary’s University in Twickenham London.
John taught history at Elizabeth College from 1978 to 2011 when he retired at the age of 65 years. He was made an honorary OE for more than twenty years of teaching at College and is a member of the Dead Donkey Club.
John notes how he is a rare species having been a full time classroom teacher for 44 years. He started teaching at St Peter’s school in Guildford in 1967 till 1972; George Abbott Comprehensive 1972 to 1976; and St. George’s College, Weybridge 1976 to 1978.
It is lovely to see John wearing his Donkey tie to collect his degree.
