Kim Hinshaw (6436) retired from clinical practice on 31 August 2023 after 41 years working for the NHS. He has thoroughly enjoyed his career as a consultant obstetrician & gynaecologist in NE England and now plans to spend more time with his fiancée Lesley (a research midwife), his 9 year-old grandson Lewis and daughters Abbie and Lauren.
One of his proudest moments was in June, assisted in his penultimate caesarean section list by his younger daughter Lauren, who has just achieved her MSc in Physician Associate studies. Lauren started work in A&E in Sunderland in September… a chip off the old block! Kim will be over in Guernsey more often, visiting his parents and sister and seeing ‘old’ school friends from College days (left summer 1976) ….
