Congratulations to Roy on his BEM in the 2023 New Year’s Honours list.

Roy Bisson BEM, (4861) has had an active couple of years, becoming President of La Société Guernesiaise in 2022 and receiving The British Empire Medal from the King in the 2023 New Year’s Honours list, cited for long term service to the community. Roy is a co-founder and secretary of The Victor Hugo In Guernsey Society which has succeeded in bringing one of Guernsey’s most famous residents to a wider public understanding in the island and abroad. He is involved in a current project to turn the old States building into a Victor Hugo Centre.
