A Message From The OEA President

Welcome to our new NetWork OE website.
28 Feb 2019
Welcome

Welcome to the brand new NetWork OE website. The last update was over five years ago and with the speed that technology moves the old site had become somewhat dated. As a Committee we feel that it is important to provide our membership with an internet offering that is useful, informative and, perhaps most importantly, user-friendly. The new website makes it easier than ever for members to stay in touch with fellow OEs. One feature that I have already made use of is the ability to set up a network of OEA contacts and message them, handy for business or just for arranging a night out with old friends. You will also be able to continue to book and pay for places at the Guernsey and London dinners online. You will find news of OEs and OEA events, news of College activities and also a link to the Roy Honey Archive, one of the best ways of losing a few hours without realising that I have ever come across! Perhaps the best way to learn about the new features is to log in and try them out for yourself. To make it easier you can import your profile from LinkedIn or Facebook. We hope that you enjoy using the new site and please do let us have your feedback.

As I mentioned in an earlier missive, as well as the popular annual dinners in Guernsey and London, we are looking to develop smaller social gatherings with the aim of bringing more OEs together more frequently. Before Christmas we held a very successful 'test' event in the College Hall with OEs from many different vintages coming together to reminisce over a beer or two. These sort of events will continue and we are open to suggestions as to what format they will take. As a former boarder at College I would love to get together with other ex-members of School House to muse over the good old days. Organising these events will be much easier now using the better networking capabilities of the updated NetWork OE. The usual football, hockey and cricket matches against the College will, of course, continue.  A possible new event is an OEA v College de Putron style quiz. This was suggested by last year’s leavers and is being looked into. As always, please do get in touch if you have any ideas about other OEA events.

Finally, we will continue to send out our popular monthly news emails so please do get in touch with us at oea@elizabethcollege.gg with any news that you have about your achievements or those of other OEs.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our new OEA website today.
