Old Elizabethans had their most successful Imperial Meeting ever at Bisley this year. Peter Jory collected no fewer than four of the main aggregate trophies after leading the Grand Aggregate for the first three days. In addition to Peter’s wins in the Sunday Aggregate, the Brigadier, the New Zealand and the Elkington, Nick Mace also won the Stock Exchange Aggregate.

Eleven of the 12-strong team which won the Overseas match for Guernsey for the first time were all Old Elizabethans. Eleven OEs also shot for Guernsey in the long-range Mackinnon. The Mackinnon shoot secured the Dominion Challenge Cup for the island, another first for Guernsey.

The three Guernseymen who toughed it out to the Queen’s Prize Final were all under 21 OEs, Nick Branch, Jon Branch and Rob Waters.

The OERC congratulates the College itself on the fine Ashburton score which put it into third place. Such was Gresham’s winning Asburton score that even the OEs 249 ex 250 in the Veterans match was not enough to bring the Lucas Challenge Cup (for combined Ashburton and Vets scores) back home to the island. Although the OERC A team equalled the 249 of Old Guildfordians, the Surrey school had more central ‘v’ bulls and won the Veterans A.
