A Summer Sunday Lunch in Sark
After weeks of fairly indifferent weather, the visit to Sark of 20 OEs their wives and friends heralded the beginning of summer - rather late, however, as this was the 29th of July
Arriving by ferry and private boats, and after several perambulations of Sark by foot and on two wheels, we all foregathered at Le Petit Beauregard for pre-lunch drinks. It was then that the drizzle and cloud finally disappeared to be replaced by sunshine and a cloudless bright blue sky
The two proprietors of Le Petit Beauregard, Cyril and Dermot, had erected a marquee in their garden and this was where we sat down for a delicious lunch cooked by Dermot and washed down by glasses of chilled New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. After a stunning trifle with white peaches and then coffee, it was all too soon to start our journey back to Guernsey having had a most enjoyable lunch with excellent company and fellowship.
Many thanks to Chris Robilliard for organising such a wonderful day out.
